How To Calibrate A Torque Wrench

Torque wrenches, also known as torque adjustable wrenches, are a type of wrenches. According to the power source, it can be divided into: electric torque wrench, pneumatic torque wrench, hydraulic torque wrench and manual torque wrench. Manual torque wrenches can be divided into: preset type, fixed value type, dial type, digital display type, slip type, bending type, and kilogram type. When the tightness of screws and bolts is critical, using a torque wrench can allow the operator to apply a specific torque value.

 

 

1. Why Do Torque Wrenches Need to Be Calibrated?

The torque wrench must be maintained to ensure that the measurement results are accurate. If the torque wrench is not calibrated regularly, it may increase the chance of offsetting the uncertainty of the measured values and quantified results. In high-risk tasks that require precise results, inaccurate conclusions can be dangerous.

 

 

2. How to Calibrate a Torque Wrench?

1) Before using the torque wrench calibrator, check whether the power of the instrument is sufficient. If the power is lacking, please charge it first (it can also be used when charging).

 

2) Put the square probe of the test torque wrench into the load-bearing square hole, and lift the handle at the other end of the test torque wrench above the height adjustment block .

 

3) Turn on the power switch, the torque value displayed is zero. If it is not zero, press the reset button to reset the torque value.

 

4) Before the test, the top of the list needs to set the upper and lower limits, the minimum storage value, the minimum peak adherence value, the active peak time, the active shutdown time, the gravity acceleration, etc.

 

A. Set the upper limit value: Set the upper limit value according to the demand. When the upper limit value is reached, there is an active sound and light.

 

B. Sett the lower limit value: Sets the lower limit value according to the demand. When the lower limit value is reached, there is an active light. The lower limit value should not be higher than the upper limit value.

 

C. Set the minimum storage value: Sets the minimum storage value according to storage requirements, and the data below this value will not be stored.

 

D. Set the minimum peak adherence value: Set the minimum peak adherence value according to the peak value, and the data below this value will not be retained.

 

E. Set the active peak time: The user can freely set the time from 1 second to 99 seconds according to the peak demand in the active peak measurement state.

 

F. Set the active shutdown time: In the no-operation state, the active shutdown time can be set freely from 0 minutes to 9 minutes (when set to 0 minutes, it means that the active shutdown is exempted)

 

G. Set the gravity acceleration value: Set the gravity acceleration value according to the direction of the local area, the machine defaults to 9.794.
